Residents find little relief

A lot of residents who moved to escape toxic emissions from the lignite-fired power plant in Mae Mo district live at Ban Huay Rak Mai. About 70 families who were affected by toxic emissions from the power plant. Many residents have suffered respiratory problems allegedly caused by exposure of sulphur dioxide emissions from the plant. Many people have died at least 20 local villagers by toxic emissions from the power plant. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand ( Egat ) tried to solve the problem as a result it led to better air quality. Money is involved in this case. Chiang Mai Administrative Court said many residents were eligible for about 246,000 baht each on the severity of their suffering. Residents have to live with environment at Ban Huay Rak Mai. Each family has been allocated one rai of land. One from residents spent a lot of money to pay his medical bills.

In my opinion, this news is the great example to show how effect of toxic emission from the power plant to people who live nearly there. Money cannot help anything good because money cannot buy everything like health. Poor health that you get from any toxic cannot cure distinctly by medicine because longer hoard makes more dangerouse than we think so make sure if something wrong with yourself you have to see the doctor and look at your area. Hand in hand is the good thing you should do, if something badly happen we may be cannot do anything. It is lately to do so. And industry has to care for the residents because of many factors of people cannot afford facilities. So you have to care each other, not just care only about benefit.
